Public Use Backcountry Yurt Rental Options & Services
Public Use Backcountry Yurt Rental
Self Supported Kayak & Hike In - Previous Kayaking & Backcountry Experience Required
Moose Pass is an hour and a half South of Anchorage, just 30 miles from Seward and Kenai Fjords National Park. Our yurts are located on stunning Grant Lake, a 1 mile kayak and 1 mile hike from Moose Pass, Alaska. Access to the yurt requires boating to the trailhead. Walking across the railroad bridge is not allowed and the yurt is not accessible from the Upper Grant Lake Trail! Once at camp we do have additional kayaks at Grant Lake and all of our overnight yurt guests have access to our kayaks for paddling around Grant Lake from the designated time of Check-In until the time of Check-Out each day.
Backcountry Yurt Rental with Optional Fly In / Fly Out Service
If kayaking and hiking isn't in the cards for you, we can get you hooked up with a flight plan whether you're already in Moose Pass or even if you're in Anchorage. If you're interested in upgrading to a glacial viewing flight we can do that too! A 60 minute flight can give you a birds eye view of the Harding Icefield and several glaciers in Kenai Fjords National Park, including Aialik Glacier, Exit Glacier and more!
Fully Guided Overnight Yurt Adventure & Kayak Tour with Frontier Style BBQ Dinner
If you're wanting a bit more of a full service situation and don't have the gear or the desire to pack it in and cook your own food, we also offer a full service guided tour, with Moose Pass Adventures, which includes kayak transportation or flight, a frontier style BBQ dinner, overnight yurt accommodation and breakfast the next morning! Whether you are well seasoned in the outdoors or never kayaked or stayed in a yurt before, this overnight tour is one of the best ways to feel truly immersed in what Alaska has to offer.
Check Out What Else We Offer
We originally created the Moose Pass Yurts site as a way to get the word out to our neighbors and friends, basically through word of mouth, that our yurt camp was ready to book. In doing that we’ve received a lot of questions about what else we offer, or heard comments like, “Oh, I had no idea you guys ran guided kayak tours. Awesome!’ So, we’ve added a section below that links to our guided kayaking & hiking tours as well as our Packraft trips!
